2021 Bible Camp Season Suspended

As I said before, we were planning and moving forward with our Bible Camp season 2021 with God’s direction and always praying to see what He wanted us to do during the season and in an adverse scenario. There have been a few things that have happened in our country in the last days that led us to make the decision to suspend our 2021 Bible Camp Season until October of this year.

On Thursday, April the 1st, the Government declared the State of Emergency for public calamity in eight Provinces of our country, including our province Guayas. The State of Emergency includes a curfew at night, and also limits the right to free association and assembly “for the purpose of avoiding meetings and crowds that cause accelerated contagion”, therefore, all events of influx and mass congregation in the eight provinces are prohibited.

Because of this and the increase of Covid-19 cases and deaths in the main cities, Guayaquil and Quito, Faro de Esperanza has made the decision to suspend our Bible Camp season until October 2021.

There are two groups left to come to our Bible Camp Season 2021, the junior youths from Playas and Guayaquil. God willing, on the break they have from school in October, we will be planning to bring them out to camp again for 3 days. This will depend on (again, according to God’s will) how the pandemic is going in our country and how the restriction and the vaccine plan have developed by then.

We will be saving, in the savings account we have at FE, all the resources that have or are about to come for the last two weeks of camp that were planned, for October.

Thank you for your understanding and trust.

We hope to keep counting with your prayers.
