Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will be joyful in God my Savior.

The Sovereign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights.

He has been with us all this time!

“He was/is with us!” That was the message Carlos Ortega left us with at the Navidad de Fe program that took place at our camp facilities, on December 12th of this year. In the midst of these uncertain times we are all living in, it was a word we believe came from God, to all of us: He is with us!

We at FE (Faro de Esperanza) have seen this being a reality all year round: God was with us. As an organization, being able to pay all bills, salaries and taxes in a year we had almost none rentals (incomes) was, undoubtedly, God. Being able to host and budget a social project, the Covid-19 Relief Project, starting with zero resources was for sure God working and answering our prayers through many of you that were part of that initiative.

Being able to host our Christmas program, Navidad de Fe, was another way God showed us He was with us and the many families that were served that day. Thanks to the support of many of you and our partner churches in Canada and EEUU, we were able to welcome around 120 people, including children, youths and adults, to our program. “Every year as a family we attend this special Christmas dinner, like a tradition already, where we hear about God and about the true meaning of Christmas”, said Emanuel, a young man from the community of El Arenal.

We really had a great time. We sang, heard about God’s promises to us and ate delicious food. The children had a special program that same day and went home with a small gift. This was possible thanks to you. Maybe God bless you for your support and prayers.

As an extra blessing, the Ortega family donated a basket of food for each of the families that went that day. All of the families invited to Navidad de Fe, were benefited last April through our Covid-19 Relief Project that ended in July. So this gift was a surprise for all of them and they were grateful and happy. Thanks to the Ortega family and all the people that helped through them.

We are now praying and moving forward, with God’s direction, for the next year and the first ministry that will come: the Bible Camp Ministry. I will be sharing about that in the next update. For now, thank you for making Navidad de Fe a reality.

Hope you all have a merry Christmas and a happy new year!

P.D. I want to thank the staff that helped that day: Carlos and Becky (Sofi and Isa), Johanna and David (Samu), Edy and Amy, Mónica and Jamil, Denisse, Esperanza, Eugenia, Jennifer, Michell, Mariana, Ibis and Saul.

¡Gracias a todos!
